What Carboy stores

For each store that installs Carboy we keep the pools you create (name, unit, amounts), the product variants linked to them, and a log of stock movements. A movement records an order or refund number and the quantity of each size, so you can see why a pool changed.

What Carboy does not store

No customer names, emails, addresses, phone numbers or payment details. Order notifications from Shopify contain customer data; Carboy reads only the line items and quantities and discards the rest.

Where it lives

On our own server in a PostgreSQL database, backed up every day. Shopify session tokens are stored there to call the Shopify API for your store.

Deleting your data

When you uninstall, Carboy stops working with your store immediately. When Shopify sends its shop deletion request, 48 hours after uninstall, everything above is deleted. Customer data requests receive an empty answer because there is nothing to return.
